Portsmouth Little League is proud to host its first winter clinic series in 2024. The FREE winter clinics will run on Sundays from 3 - 4:15 p.m. Winter Clinics hosted in partnership with Portsmouth High School Baseball
When signing up, please consider your athlete's ability and sign up for "Beginner" OR "Intermediate" if age qualifies you for both.
CHOOSE: "Beginner" = First- or second-year player [CENTRAL DIVISION / COACH PITCH]. Still learning throwing mechanics, working on catching skills, and developing his or her swing.
OR "Intermediate" = Third-year+ player. Able to (80%) catch baseballs thrown by peers. Able to take feedback re: throwing and hitting to help develop proper mechanics.
"Pitchers/Catchers" = All ages, all abilities. MUST provide an adult catcher for pitchers. Catchers will be coached separately and at appropriate levels re: age and ability.

OPTION 1:
Beginner - Hitting / Fielding / Baserunning
The 75-minutes sessions will be divided into up to five (5) stations. All attendees will receive basic pitching/catching instruction.
Ideal for Coach Pitch Players in PLL's Central Division.
These sessions are capped at 30 participants.
- Focus on proper throwing, catching, hitting, and running.
- Small group stations allowing for one-on-one time (~1 PHS Coach + 1 player to 6-8 PLL players).
- Work with experienced hitting coaches.
- Basic fundamentals of ground balls, pop flies and glove to hand ball transfer.
- Have fun while learning!

These sessions are capped at 30 participants.
- Focus on proper throwing, catching, and hitting.
- Small group stations allowing for one-on-one time (~1 PHS Coach + 1 player to 6-8 PLL players.)
- Work with experienced hitting coaches.
- Expand on basic fundamentals of infield/outfield -- including footwork.
- Have fun while learning!

SPECIALTY OPTION:
Pitching
The 45-minute, dedicated pitching/catching sessions will be capped at 12 pitchers and 6 catchers per session. Two (2) sessions per date.
- No previous pitching experience required.
- Pitching coaches will work in small groups and one-on-one situations.
- Each pitcher is required to provide their own ADULT catcher. Catcher registrants will rotate through the pitchers at the end of each session after receiving separate catching instruction for ~30 minutes.

Coaches are always encouraged to sign up and assist and improve your coaching skill set. PLL Coaches will be observers but may be asked to help with registration, check in, locating equipment, etc.
