Portsmouth 12s Defeat North Manchester-Hooksett 11-0 in District 2 Little League Playoffs

Portsmouth, NH – The Portsmouth 10- to 12-year-old District All-Star team handled North Manchester-Hooksett on Monday night in the first game of the double-elimination NH District 2 Little League playoffs, with a combined 1-hitter on the mound by Jack Spencer and Lucas Cresta and lively bats that contributed 6 hits and 8 walks in the game.

Portsmouth (8-0) started their scoring in the bottom of the first inning with 5 runs that included an RBI double by Joey St. Laurent (Jack Moreau scores) and timely, 2-out single by Colin Sparks that scored 2 runs (Cam Stacy and Colton McCain score).

Portsmouth extended the lead in the second inning with an additional 3 runs.  After a pair of walks, Jack Spencer doubled to center field, scoring Jack Moreau, and Joey St. Laurent tripled to right field scoring Spencer.

Portsmouth finished their scoring in the 3-run third inning on a sac fly by Lucas Cresta (Colton McCain scores) and a 2-RBI single by Jacob Hodges (Blaze Bocash and Colin Sparks score).

Portsmouth fielders did not commit an error in the game.

Portsmouth’s St. Laurent led the team with two hits in the game and 5 total bases, and St. Laurent, Sparks, and Hodges each collected 2 RBIs.

North Manchester-Hooksett's lone hit in the game came from Philip Lapierre.

Portsmouth will host rival Concord (7-1) on Tuesday night at 5:45pm at Hislop Field in Portsmouth.
