Portsmouth, NH -- The Portsmouth 10- to 12-year-old District All-Star team unleashed an offensive onslaught to defeat Suncook Little League 18-0 on Tuesday night in New Hampshire District 2 Little League tournament play.
Undefeated Portsmouth (5-0) broke the game open with a 10-run second inning, as a bases-load triple by Alex Hodsdon cleared the bases and extended the lead to 8-0. Jack Spencer, Hodsdon, Cam Stacy, Colton McCain, and Colin Sparks each had multiple hits and multiple RBIs in the game.
Jack Moreau started on the mound for Portsmouth and combined with Grady O’Connell for the team’s second no-hitter of the summer. Suncook’s record moves to 3-2.
Portsmouth has two remaining round robin games left on Thursday night (5:45pm) at Tilton-Northfield and Saturday morning (10:00am) at Lamprey River. The double-elimination District 2 finals begin on July 17th.
