In a game where pitching kept runners off the bases Concord came through with a run in a walk off single by Will Simms in the bottom of the 7th inning to extend the NHD2 championship to a winner-take-all game on Sunday, July 24 at 10 am at Grappone Field in Concord.
Portsmouth Jakoby Schoppmeyer went the distance for Portsmouth giving up 1 run on 4 hits while striking out 14 including striking out the side in the 4th and 6th innings. He never faced more than 4 batters in an inning recording at least one K per inning. Concord's Henry Thresher started the game for Concord giving up no runs on 6 hits while striking out 7; he was relieved by the game winner, Anthony LaTorra in the 6th inning after reaching the 85 pitch limit.

After Lamprey River jumped out to an early lead, Portsmouth tied the score with 3 runs in the 4th inning but couldn't hold the lead as Lamprey River plated 4 runs in the top of the 5th to take the lead for good in the NHD2 8-10 year old championship game.
Portsmouth's starting pitcher, Alex Hodsdon, went 2 innings giving up 4 runs on 3 hits before being replaced by Max Poulin in the top of the 3rd inning. Poulin pitched the remaining 4 innings giving up 5 runs on 6 hits and took the loss for Portsmouth.
Lucas LaFleur, the lead off hitter, and Cooper Peelman [RBI] both went 2 for 4 with LaFleur scoring each time he reached base. Hodsdon [double, run, 2 RBI], Alec Lyng [triple, run, RBI], and Grady Cronin [single] all contributed to the Portsmouth offense.
