Pitching in his first game of pool play Grady Cronin earned the win giving up 3 hits and walking 2 batters while striking out 5 Laconia players in a game shortened to 3 innings by the 15-run rule.

Portsmouth's bats were on display as the team pounded out 16 hits over 3 innings of work. Offensive contributions came from Lucas LaFleur [2 for 4, 2 runs, RBI], Alex Hodsdon [2 for 4, 2 runs, RBI], Alec Lyng [2 for 3, run, RBI], Mia Delaney [2 for 2, 3 runs], Cooper Peelman [2 for 2, 2 runs, RBI], and Liam Carter [2 for 2, run, 2 RBI]. Also reaching base on singles were Griffin Gamester, Myles Robillard, Max Poulin, and Grady Cronin.

 

The team finishes pool play on Saturday with a home game against North Manchester-Hooksett. Both Portsmouth and NMH have secured places in the championship round as host teams beginning Monday, July 18, and the winner of Saturday's game will be the #1 seed.
