On Thursday the Portsmouth Little League U11 district team [1-1] earned its first win in the pool play round of the NH state tournament besting Salem Little League 4-2. Jack Spencer got the win striking out 8 batters and allowing 4 hits.
The Portsmouth offense scored its 4 runs in the 2ndinning with Colton McCain leading the way [2 for 3; run]. Conor Gott [single, RBI, run], Griffin McGuffin [double, RBI, run], Hunter Griffin [double], and Joey St Laurent [RBI] all contributed key offense in the inning. Caden Desjardins and Colin Sparks rounded out the Portsmouth offense with singles.
Portsmouth's U11's continue pool play on July 6 when Portsmouth travels to Bedford for a 6 pm game.
