Player evaluations for Ages 6 -13 [born between September 1, 2007 and August 31, 2015] will be held outside at Plains Field in Portsmouth. Players returning to the same division in 2021 should NOT attend player evaluations. If you did not play in 2020 you should attend evaluations. Player tryouts are scheduled by division and in age groups as follows:
NOTE: PLAYERS MUST WEAR A WELL FITTED FACE COVERING [MASK], MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCE, and USE THEIR OWN EQUIPMENT FOR THE EVALUATION SESSIONS. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A GLOVE OR BAT CONTACT KATHIE LYNCH VIA EMAIL [[email protected]] TO OBTAIN A GLOVE OR BAT IN ADVANCE. PLAYERS MAY REMOVE THE MASK WHEN PERFORMING A BASEBALL SKILL.
SATURDAY, APRIL 10: 11 and NEW 12 & 13 year old players [born between September 1, 2007 and August 31, 2010] with last name beginning with A-L from 9:00 to 10:00 am and last name beginning M-Z from 10:30 to 11:30 am. Please arrive 15 minutes early to sign in for try-outs.
SATURDAY, APRIL 10: 8, 9 & 10 year old players who are NEW to this division [born between September 1, 2010 and August 31, 2013] with last name beginning with A-L from 2:00 to 3:00 pm and last name beginning M-Z from 3:30 am to 4:30 pm. Please arrive 15 minutes early to sign in for try-outs.
SUNDAY, APRIL 11: 6 & NEW 7 & 8 year old players [born between September 1, 2012 and August 31, 2015] with last name beginning with A-L from 12:00 to 1:00 pm and last name beginning M-Z from 1:30 to 2:30 pm. Please arrive 15 minutes early to sign in for try-outs.
Be sure to dress appropriately as we will be outdoors; be sure your name is on all your equipment & clothing. You may want to bring water or a sports drink.
The player draft will be held after try-outs are completed; all players are placed on a team. Team assignments will be communicated via phone call no later than Sunday evening; depending on when the draft is completed you may be contacted the same day as the tryout session.
Practices start April 12. A practice schedule will be provided after teams are selected.
Games begin May 3.
The final day of the season (Championship Saturday) is June 12.
