Portsmouth, NH -- The Portsmouth 10- to 12-year-old District All-Star team walked off a 10-9 win over Concord on Saturday in a New Hampshire District 2 Little League tournament game, when Alex Hodsdon walked in the bottom of the sixth inning to score Cam Stacy.
Portsmouth trailed Concord (3-1) by 7 runs during the fourth inning, but patience at the plate and timely hits fueled the comeback. Portsmouth’s hitters drew a total of 11 walks in the game. Portsmouth tied the game in the fifth inning when Jack Spencer led off the inning with a double to centerfield and a string of hits by Joey St. Laurent, Alex Hodsdon, Blaze Bocash, Jacob Hodges, and Grady O’Connell, and a walk by Colton McCain propelled the home team to 4 runs.
Blaze Bocash led the team with 2 hits and 2 RBI, including a triple. Colin Sparks pitched 4 strong innings in relief to record the win.
Portsmouth (4-0) returns to action on Tuesday night, July 11th at 5:45pm vs. Suncook at Hislop Field in Portsmouth.
