Portsmouth earned a hard fought walk-off win in the last pool play tournament game vs Rye on Saturday morning.  Going into the 6^th inning Portsmouth held a 9-5 lead but Rye exploded for 4 runs on back-to-back home runs to tie the game and send the game to the bottom of the 6^th inning.  With one out Jack Moreau singled and came around to score 3 batters later to end the game and secure the win and the first seed in the next round for Portsmouth.  Cam Stacy earned the win for Portsmouth in relief [2 innings, 2 K's].

 

Jack Ferrelli started on the mound for Portsmouth and went 2 1/3 inning before being removed for injury; Ferrelli was replaced by Nicky Beidleman who threw 35 pitches over 1 2/3 innings.

 

Jakoby Schoppmeyer [2 for 4, 2 runs, RBI] hit his 3^rd home run of the tournament. Cam Stacy [3 for 4; 5 RBI], Jackson LaFleur [single, run], Jack McElroy [single, run], Finn McCauley [single, 2 runs], Jake Poulin [single, run], Alec Lehrer [double, run], Roan Wilson [single, run], Nicky Beidleman [single], and Hatcher Caron [double] added to the Portsmouth offense.

 

Portsmouth earned the #1 seed in the championship round of the tournament and will host Laconia on Monday at Hislop Field.

 

 

Dropping its first game in pool play Portsmouth earned the second seed in the championship round of the district tournament. Myles Robillard started the game for Portsmouth going 1 2/3 innings giving up 5 runs on 6 hits while striking out 2. He was relieved by Mia Delaney [2 innings, 4 runs on 5 hits]. Max Poulin finished the game for Portsmouth [1 2/3 inning, 3 K's].

 

The Portsmouth offense was quiet through the first 5 innings getting 1 run on 3 hits. In the 6^th inning 3 additional runs scored on a double by Lucas LaFleur [2 for 4, 2 RBI] and ground out RBI by Alec Lyng [single].  Also getting hits for Portsmouth were Alex Hodsdon [single], and Mia  Delaney [single, run].
